Clear Cache

Have you cleared your cache?

How to clear cache on common devices

Are you frustrated by frequent buffering on your Roku, Fire Stick, Smart TV, or other streaming device? Before you throw your TV out the window, we suggest clearing your cache. Why?

What is Cache?

Cached data, or data that has been stored on your device after visiting a website or streaming, is stored on your machine so that the next time you go to use it, it’ll already be available. It’s great for speeding up repeatable tasks by eliminating the need to pull that data from the internet again. That is, it’s great until your device has run out of storage or your computer starts slowing down because its cache is full. Issues with cached data also affects your streaming devices, causing them to buffer or perform poorly. Which is why it is important to clear your cash, removing unwanted files and freeing up storage space on your device.

When should you clear your cache?

There is no defined timeline for clearing your cache. Basically, you can clear that data as often as you like and, at the very least, try clearing your cache whenever you notice your system starting to slow down or buffer.
